Thank you for considering Pound Pups Rescue Group and Savannah Animal Control as a place to adopt a cat or dog. You are about to make a very important decision. Bringing an animal into your home will change your life, your lifestyle, for the next 15 years or so, because that is how long they will live. We want to help you to make an informed decision, to make the right choice. If we sound discouraging, or even advise you not to adopt, please be assured that this does not reflect on your character or that we think of you as a lesser person. We are the advocates for the animals in our care, imposing the highest standards regarding their welfare and happiness. We seek adoptive homes which share our philosophy and who have the love as well as the time, the space and the financial means to care for an animal. We do not consider our animals as 'unwanted strays', but victims of those who, for whatever reason, acquired and then abandoned them. Their history is greatly unknown. Animal Control Agencies find them scared, starved for both food and love and completely neglected. Some had never been house-trained; some have never been taken for a walk, some come sick and many come healthy and even some already spayed or neutered.
Savannah Animal Control and Pound Pups Rescue Group try to asses their personalities as well as we can. How they react to:
- People
- Children
- Other animals
Yet there are no guarantees, neither for health nor temperament. In different environments cats and dogs react differently to different people. If you consider adopting from us, we will help you to make the right decision in the best interest of the animals in our care.
We don't take chances; we don't merely 'give them a chance'. What we want is to give them, with your help, security and love for the rest of their lives.
