Pound Pups Rescue Group - Adopt A Pound Pup or Kitty

All the dogs and cats you see at Savannah Animal Control
are in desperate need of loving, permanent homes.
Each animal has a hold time of five days, to give the owners
the chance to pick them up. However, 90% of the time
they wait, and no one shows up to claim them.

So, in the meantime we start the adoption process because it
enables us to have a few more days to get them out before their
time expires. Many times that isn't even enough time.

These dogs can not wait several days for someone to come
by and look at them, their days are numbered... Literally!

 The Adoption Steps:

1. If you see a dog or a cat you like, let us know right away.
We'll help you with the meet-and-greet. Please let us know  if you are bringing your dog so you can schedule a time for the meet and greet. If you have another dog and are doing a meet and greet, you must provide proof of vacination first. Schedule times are between 1-4 pm.

Call Michelle at 912-434-1448 or Animal Control at 912-351-6750

2. Please bring adoption form, fax or e-mail any and all previous or current pet records. Your current pet(s) must be up to date on all shots, and verification of spay/neuter before you can adopt. There will be a small adoption fee, once your adoption application is approved. ( PPR cannot accept debt or creit cards at Savannah Animal Control!!!!)

3.  Pet must be taken to a vet within 2 business days to ensure
the pet's health.  When visiting the vetenarian please mention the adoption was from Savannah animal control as most animals are strays with very limited to no background history.  Please be sure to have your shot records - if applicable - from animal control upon your first visit.  Each animal is eligable for a first free exam at Berwick Animal Hospital.

4.  Spay/neuter MUST be performed within 30 days of adoption.  Medical documentation must be provided and follow up
verification will be performed. As per Georgia State Law,
if spay/neuter is not performed in a timely matter, you can be
fined up to $200, and the animal permanently removed from
the home. Please send documentation by  email or drop off at Savannah ANimal Control!!!!

5. We  will follow up to see how things are going to ensure a correct match between owner and pet. We at Pound Pups care deeply for these animals, not just while they are at the shelter but once they
leave for their forever home as well.

YOU JUST SAVED A LIFE !
