Lost & Found Pets
Have you lost or found a dog or cat? Pound Pups Rescue Group has tips to help you as well as place ads to help reunite pets. If you
have reclaimed a lost pet, consider permanent identification with
microchipping in the event your pet goes missing again.
What to do if you've lost your pet
- Visit the Animal Control shelter every 1-2 days, to include weekends. Please bring a photo
of the pet, if you have one. You are the only one who can positively
identify your pet. Leave your name, address, a daytime phone number, and a description of your pet.
- Place an advertisement in the Savannah
Morning News (652-0229), Penny Saver (238-2040), Tell-n-Sell
(927-7731) and the Spirit of the Westside (748-3567). Consider
offering a reward to the public. Lost and Found ads are FREE in
these papers. Be sure to include the date and the area where your
animal was lost or found; however, DO NOT include your pet's
name.
- Post signs in nearby convenience stores, grocery stores, and
Veterinarian's offices, not on utility poles. If a picture is
included on the sign, it is easier for someone to identify your
pet.
- Check with your mail carrier, garbage collector, and other individuals
who regularly frequent your neighborhood.
